Safety plea after child hit by truck

SHARJAH // A five-year-old girl sustained minor injuries after being hit by a pick up truck outside of a school.

The accident happened at a school in the Al Muwailah area on Thursday at about 10am. The youngster was hit by the truck after slipping her mother's hand and running into the road.

She was taken by ambulance to Al Qassimi hospital suffering from minor injuries.

Sharjah police have urged parents of young children to keep tight hold of them while near busy roads.
