DUBAI // Emirates Airline is offering young rugby fans in the UAE a chance to carry a team flag on to the pitch in a Rugby World Cup quarter-final match in Auckland, New Zealand.
The online competition is open to fans between 14 and 16.
In addition to being an official flag-bearer, the winner will get two return business-class tickets from Dubai to Auckland, three nights accommodation in the city and two tickets to the fourth quarter-final, for themselves and a guardian.
The competition is open until September 22. The winner must give the correct name of Emirates' loyalty rewards programme for young flyers online at emirates.com/ae/flagbearer.
The winner will be announced after the South Africa versus Namibia game on September 22.
"Emirates is a Worldwide Partner of Rugby World Cup 2011 and this competition gives passionate rugby fans in the UAE the opportunity to be centre stage at one of the world's largest sporting events," said Khalid Bel Jaflah, vice president of the airline's UAE sales.
"This is a money-can't-buy opportunity that will create lasting memories for the winner. What better way to get involved in the Rugby World Cup than lead the teams on to the pitch."
The Rugby World Cup starts on September 9, with the final being held on October 23.
