Royal visit for family of man killed defending Island of Greater Tunb in 1971


The family of the first Emirati martyr, who died in 1971, has been visited by the Crown Prince of Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid went to the home of relatives of Salem Suhail bin Khamis in the Al Munaie district of Ras Al Khaimah yesterday, state news agency Wam reported.

He was killed by Iranian forces while defending the country's sovereignty over the occupied Island of Greater Tunb.

Sheikh Hamdan conveyed the greetings of President Sheikh Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, to the family.
