The most popular dish among both expatriates and locals at Emirati N More is the thareed.
The meal has been around for thousands of years and is said to have been the Prophet Mohammed's favourite. It was even mentioned in a hadith as being among his most loved food.
In another hadith, the Prophet used the dish to illustrate the character of a noble woman.
"The superiority of Aisha to other women is like the superiority of thareed to other kinds of food," he said.
Thareed is a mildly spicy stew of chicken, lamb or goat with vegetables, ladled out on to a plate of Arabic flat bread.
The dish is also lauded for its health benefits, and some scholars say it can even help with nausea.
