Rain expected during Eid Al Adha holiday

The UAE is set for rain over the Eid Al Adha festival, according to the nation's weather forecasters.

Residents and visitors need not worry about carrying an umbrella, however, said a forecaster from the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology, who predicted light showers on Sunday night.

Slightly heavier showers are also expected early Monday morning.

The wet patch of weather is not expected to disrupt transportation, said the forecaster, who added that no warning had been issued to planes flying to and from the main airports.

The last recorded rainfall took place a week ago in the Eastern region.
