Power outage at Jumeirah Lakes Towers in Dubai

DUBAI // Residents in Jumeirah Lakes Towers had a power outage at around 1.30pm today due to Dewa maintenance work.

An employee at Khidmah, the maintenance company of Lake Shore Tower, a residential building in JLT's cluster Y, confirmed the outage. Speaking before the power was restored at 2.40 pm, she said that Khidmah's director was working with Dewa to try and fix the problem "as soon as possible".

"This is affecting all of the buildings in Jumeirah Lake Towers," she said. "None of the buildings have any power at the moment." Some tenants were stuck on high floors as elevators stopped working.

A customer service representative at Dewa said the outage was due to "emergency work in Jumeirah Lake Towers".

"It is maintenance work that is being done in the whole area... it will automatically restart on its own," she said.
