Pope sends best wishes to the people of UAE


The Pope has passed on his wishes for further progress and prosperity to the people of the UAE.

Pope Benedict XVI spoke about the country when he met UAE non-resident ambassador to The Vatican, Dr Hessa Abdullah Ahmed Al Otaiba, at a reception, the state news agency WAM has reported.

While in the city state, Dr Hessa conveyed greetings to the Pope from UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.

In return, the Pope asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings to the UAE leadership and his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the country's people.
