Spain expresses support for UAE visa-free travel in Europe

Spain has further expressed its support to allow Emiratis unrestricted travel throughout Europe for the first time, the state news agency Wam reported.

The Spanish minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, has sent a letter to the European commissioner for home affairs, recommending the Emirates' inclusion on the list of countries whose citizens are granted visa-free entry to the Schengen Area.

The minister said the move had economic, political and cultural benefits for both parties.
