Abdullah Al Nuaimi: From under secretary to minister in one bound

Abdullah Al Nuaimi, promoted from under secretary at the Ministry of Public Works to its minister, got down to business yesterday by meeting employees.

In his previous role, Mr Al Nuaimi helped to develop infrastructure and strategic projects.

He also assisted in improving the department's communication with members of the public, especially those benefiting from ministry projects.

Mr Al Nuaimi has worked at the Civil Aviation Authority as engineering manager, helping to develop Abu Dhabi International Airport and its extensions.

He was also distribution manager at the then Ministry of Water and Electricity.

Among the infrastructure works he will oversee is the breakwater project in Al Kalba city, which will cost Dh1.5 billion and is expected to be completed by 2015. Other responsibilities include housing projects for Emiratis.
