Police still searching for South African woman

The body of a woman found near Arabian Ranches is not the missing South African Kerry Winter, police have confirmed. A newspaper report this morning claimed the body had been that of Ms Winter, 35, who has been missing since Aug 20. Her brother, Kurt Winter, who has been in Dubai searching for Ms Winter since last week, said: "We had quite a scare, but the police have assured us it's definitely not Kerry, it was terrifying when I read the story." Police say the body is that of a Pakistani woman, but no further details have been released. Ms Winter was last seen being attacked with a baseball bat and bundled into the back of her own car by her ex-boyfriend, a British national. He is still in police custody and claims he dropped Ms Winter's at the Arabian Ranches roundabout, near to where the woman's body was discovered last night. A vigil at St Mary's Church in Dubai will be held at 4.45pm today, where any volunteers wanting to help in the search can meet the family. @email:garis@thenational.ae
