Police medical test taken by imposter

ABU DHABI // A man posed as his colleague to help him pass the medical test for Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, a court heard today.

ZT told the Criminal Court of First Instance that his colleague GM was unaware that he had applied for a medical test under GM's name.

He told Chief Justice Sayed Abdulbaseer, the head of the court, that his colleague knew about his actions only after they had both been arrested.

A third man, TM, had accompanied him as a translator - the three defendants are all from Pakistan - and was also not aware of what he was doing, claimed ZT.

"So you're taking all the blame for this?" Chief Justice Abdulbaseer asked ZT.

The judge released TM and GM on bail and adjourned the case until February 21. ZT remains in custody.
