Pickpocket arrested three times in UAE

ABU DHABI // Police in the capital have arrested a pickpocket who preyed on customers at a government service agency.

The 34-year-old Bangladeshi man had been in trouble with the law twice before this incident: he was deported in 1999 for pick-pocketing and arrested again in 2007 while trying to sneak across the border illegally.

Brigadier Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi, head of the Capital Police Directorate, said they had recovered some stolen items when they arrested the man in the reception of a government services agency.

Once police investigations are complete, he will be referred to public prosecutors.
