Narrow escape for UAE driver whose car burst into flames
AJMAN // A driver narrowly escaped death after his car exploded into flames yesterday.
He was driving on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road about 6.50am when he saw smoke coming from the under the bonnet.
Moments later he left the car to find water to cool the engine and it burst into flames, said Lt Salem Al Zaabi, director of communications at Ajman Civil Defence.
The saloon was completely destroyed in the blaze.
Firefighters and rescue crews arrived soon after and put out the fire without affecting traffic.
Lt Al Zaabi urged motorists to have their engines regularly maintained to prevent overheating.
