More than 70 complaints made to police about Dubai rent fraudster
Police have received 78 complaints about Haitham Al Kouatly, the owner of Shamyana Entertainment, who allegedly scammed at least 250 tenants and 200 landlords before fleeing the country with hundreds of rent cheques.
The criminal investigations department at Dubai Police said Al Kouatly fled to Beirut on August 30 after fraudulently obtaining at least Dh5.8 million in rental fees from tenants.
A case against him has been registered with the public prosecution and officers are working on issuing an international arrest warrant against him.
