Molestation case heard in private

DUBAI // A hearing in the case of a British doctor accused of molesting a patient was held behind closed doors yesterday to protect the identity of the complainant during her testimony. NF, 64, has been charged with molesting the woman, PR, from Singapore, while giving her laser treatment at a private clinic last month. The doctor denies the charges.

Prosecution records show that a Romanian laser specialist told authorities that a Lebanese woman had complained to him separately about inappropriate behaviour by NF during several of her visits to the clinic. In the case that was before the court yesterday, the Singaporean woman told the prosecution that when she and NF were alone in an examining room, he touched her inappropriately while acting as if he were performing a routine check.
