Men deny stealing jewellery found in bathroom ceiling
A court heard yesterday that an assistant mechanical engineer stole Dh60,000 in jewellery from a house where he was doing maintenance work.
The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance charged R K, 28, of India, with theft for allegedly stealing the jewellery and Dh500 in cash.
Prosecutors said RK stole the valuables, which were hidden in the ceiling of a bathroom in the house, after finding them while doing maintenance on the air-conditioning system. Two other people are accused of helping RK to hide the gold.
In court yesterday, the men denied the charges.
