ABU DHABI // The Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, emphasised yesterday the importance of strengthening bilateral relations with Algeria.
Sheikh Abdullah was speaking in Algiers during a meeting with Abdelmalek Sellal, Algeria’s prime minister. Both men discussed ways to promote friendly relations and cooperation beneficial to both countries, state news agency, Wam said.
Other high-ranking officials present at the meeting included Amara Benyounes, Algeria’s minister of territorial management and the environment; Cherif Rahmani, minister of industry, small and medium-sized enterprises and promotion of investment, and the UAE ambassador to Algeria, Ali Nasser Al Mazrouie.
The two parties exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, such as the Middle East peace process and the crisis in Syria.
Discussions also focused on efforts to strengthen economic and trade relations and to encourage investments in industrial and renewable energy projects.
