How to report a crime in the UAE

How best to report a matter to police depends on the nature of what you are reporting.

In emergences, or in the case of a road accident, call 999 and give as many details as possible to the operation room. A police patrol will be sent immediately.

If you have lost a valuable item, such as a wallet or jewellery, or if you suspect it has been stolen, contact the police station nearest to where you believe the incident happened. Take a copy of your passport or ID card. Details of the item will then be forwarded to all the police stations in the emirate.

To file a missing-person report, the next-of-kin should go to the police station nearest the missing person's home address. The search will begin once police are satisfied the person is missing.

Dubai Police say each report is followed up through the victim support programme, which offers assistance to victims of crimes.
