Two new UAE hospitals to treat 300 patients

DUBAI // A private healthcare group plans to build two multi-speciality hospitals by 2014, adding 300 beds in Dubai and Sharjah.

Aster, part of DM Healthcare, which provides services in the Middle East and India, will build a hospital in the Mankhool area of Bur Dubai and another on King Faisal Street in Sharjah.

The hospitals will mark 25 years of services by the healthcare provider.

"This opening is extremely significant in our growth," Dr Azad Moopen, chairman of DM Healthcare said.

"With our expansion, Aster across the GCC now has more than 600 beds, with highly qualified doctors and paramedics aimed at providing patient care of the highest quality."

A floor at each hospital will be dedicated to mothers and babies and both will offer 24-hour emergency services.

The hospitals will also provide orthopaedic care and bariatric and weight-loss procedures, plus radiology and telemedicine facilities. Paperless services will be offered in an effort to be environmentally friendly.
