Diabetes bus on UAE tour

The Changing Diabetes World Tour bus has hit the UAE to encourage people to test for the disease and facilitate prevention and early treatment.

Since it was launched in 2006 by diabetes centre in Denmark, the mobile screening unit has toured 31 countries.

The bus is stationed at the Halwan branch of the Sharjah Co-operative Society until November 19; Dubai from November 23 until December 6; and Abu Dhabi from December 20 to January 4. Five nurses and five doctors will be on hand weekdays from 5pm to 11pm and are expected to screen 5,000 people.
