Medical facilities in Al Gharbia will be brought up to international standards and be made available to every resident, the Ruler's Representative to the region has pledged. "The Government is determined to upgrade the health care system in Abu Dhabi at bar with the highest internationally recognised standards in order to deliver top quality health care to every national and residents," Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed said during a tour of the region yesterday.
Sheikh Hamdan visited Madinat Zayed hospital during his trip, which also included inspections of a camel racetrack and mosques. The inspection included the paediatric and emergency wards and a briefing from Salem al Mansouri, the hospital director, about plans to upgrade facilities. The sheikh said the health sector across the emirate had the full support of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, President of the UAE, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
