A teenage girl was saved from drowning at Ajman beach yesterday, one of five people rescued this week. The Arab girl, 19, was pulled from water where a man drowned on Sunday.
Col Nasser Al Zari, the director of operations at Ajman Police, said the operations room at Rumaila station was alerted at 2.30pm. Rescue teams were on the scene within a few minutes.
Col Al Zari said police intended to launch a series of safety campaigns as the summer months arrived and more people headed to the beach. He urged beachgoers to pay attention to the weather.
