Forgery cases in Abu Dhabi reach 1,700 in three years

ABU DHABI // More than 1,700 cases of forgery have been reported to the police's Forensic Evidence Department over the past three years.

Col Ahmed Jumaa Al Hadad, head of documents examination at the department, said the cases included forged signatures, passports, paper bills, brands, and school certificates.

Col Hadad noted that Abu Dhabi police employed Emirati experts and state-of-the-art counterfeit detecting equipment in combating such crimes.

Mr Hadad warned the public against putting signatures on blank papers.
