FNC member walks out of chamber after spat with Speaker

The longest-serving member of the FNC walked out of yesterday's session after a minor spat with the Speaker.

Ali Jassim raised his hand to speak during a debate on international affairs. But after the Speaker, Mohammed Al Murr, called on him to speak, Mr Jassim quickly became annoyed as Mr Al Murr appeared distracted by his conversation with Dr Mohammed Al Mazroui, the FNC secretary general.

Mr Jassim raised his voice to grab the Speaker's attention, only to be told by Mr Al Murr: "If you talk, talk in a proper manner." Moments later, Mr Jassim again raised his hand to excuse himself and, with the Speaker's agreement, he left.
