Five rescued off Ajman coast

AJMAN // Five people were rescued from off the coast of Ajman on Monday after ignoring safety warnings and going swimming in bad weather, civil defence officials have told.

Two men, both Europeans, were rescued at different times of the day. It's thought they entered the water because they could not read warning signs written in Arabic and English, said Col Saleem Al Zaabi, the director of Ajman Civil Defence.

The three women who were rescued, also from European countries, were taken to Sheikh Khalifa hospital in Ajman for treatment.
