First aid course for UAE housewives

ABU DHABI // UAE housewives are to receive training on the essentials of first aid as part of a new home project to deal with emergencies.

They will receive training on how to deal with simple incidents inside their houses in case of burns, cuts, fractures and suffocation, according to state news agency, Wam.

The initiative has been launched by the The General Women's Union (GWU) in coordination with the Department of Emergency and Public Safety of Abu Dhabi Police, with the aim of ensuring the well-being of families in their homes.

The project, the 'Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak first responder initiative', was inspired by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the GWU and of Family Development Foundation, who believes that every household should have at least one first aid responder with the knowledge and skills to handle emergencies.
