Faulty heart pacemaker patient sues Abu Dhabi hospital for Dh5m


An alleged victim of a faulty pacemaker will appear in court tomorrow to sue an Abu Dhabi hospital and medical supplier for Dh5 million.

Judges at the Abu Dhabi court will hear how the he had suffered 19 electric impulses for no reason and as a result needed psychotherapy.

The man claimed he had suffered from the shocks in 2010, three years after having the pacemaker fitted to fix an irregular heart beat.

The man has asked for Dh3m in compensation for psychological and moral damage and Dh2m for the surgery and travel expenses.
