Falling rock kills construction worker
A construction worker died and two others were injured when a piece of granite fell on them.
The three men were carrying the granite by hand to a lever hoist on Thursday when they missed the hoist and the rock fell on them.
"A police rescue team was called but one worker, KM, 40, from India, had already died. The two injured men, SA, from India, and HH, 27, from Pakistan, were carried to Kuwait Hospital for treatment," a police spokesman said.
A team of forensic experts were examining the scene at Industrial Area 13 in Sharjah. No arrests had been made last night.
