Events organised by ADNEC increase by half in the last year

DUBAI // Events and exhibitions organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company (ADNEC) have increased by about half in the last year.

The number of events organised last year grew to 260 compared with 232 in the previous years, while the number of visitors to to Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre and the Al Ain Convention Centre grew to 1.4 million compared with about one million visitors during 2011.

The increase has been viewed by ADNEC as a sign in its effort to boost the Abu Dhabi economic sector through the promotion of the business tourism and MICE industry (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) as per the Abu Dhabi strategy of 2030.

Among the events hosted were the World Future Energy Summit and Expo, World Ophthalmology Congress, Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.
