Emirati woman killed and seven others injured in Al Ain accident

A 20-year-old Emirati woman was killed yesterday morning after a bus and lorry collided in Al Ain's Al Arrad region.

Six other female Emiratis, aged between 17 and 20, were injured in the crash, as was the Pakistani bus driver.

It is believed the accident happened amid thick morning fog.

The lorry was thought to have pulled out on to a main road without looking for oncoming traffic, causing the bus to hit it.

Rescuers provided first aid before transferring those injured to Al Ain Hospital.

The dead woman's body was taken to Al Wagan Hospital.
