Dubai Municipality staff to be offered interest free loans

The National staff

Interest-free financial assistance is now available for Dubai Municipality employees.

The civic body has set up a social solidarity fund for its staff, offering personal loans and support in case of death, disaster or other emergencies.

So far this Ramadan it has issued Dh205,000 in aid to various beneficiaries. Assistance has been awarded for paying debts, medical treatments, children's school fees and fire accidents.

The fund's committee is now reviewing 200 more applications.

It is financed by subscription fees and income from events and charity markets.
