Dubai fund-raisers jump in at the deep end to swim for charity

Hundreds of people are expected to swim an 800 metre loop around the Burj Al Arab on February 1 to raise funds for the international charity, Medecins Sans Frontieres.

Male and female swimmers of all ages will be able to compete in six categories as a team or individually.

Registration is from 6am to 7.30am at the Wild Wadi Waterpark entrance and costs Dh275 a person.

In 2011, more than 670 swimmers raised more than Dh256,000. Winners will be rewarded with health club memberships, hotel stays and waterpark entry. For more, visit www.wildwadi.com.
