Dubai feels effect of winter weather battering the US as flights delayed

DUBAI // A storm hitting the East Coast of the United States has interrupted some flights from and to Dubai.

Delays hit some Emirates flights departing New York's JFK airport on February 8 and February 9. "Flights... have been delayed to avoid an extensive winter storm along the East Coast of the United States," said Emirates.

The flights are; EK 202 due to depart JFK for Dubai at 23:00 local time on 8 February (delayed 10 hours), and EK 204 due to depart JFK for Dubai at 10:40 local time on February 9 (delayed 3 hours). Emirates flight EK 203 from Dubai to JFK was delayed for about four hours but has since departed.

Emirates apologised for any inconvenience and urged customers to check flight information at www.emirates.com.

Etihad said all flights were operating as scheduled but urged customers to check the website www.etihad.com
