Dubai Al Khail Road improvements to be finished by end of year

DUBAI // The improvements to Al Khail Road in Dubai are due to be completed by the end of the year.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have expanded the road to six lanes in each direction and replaced four roundabouts with flyovers to ease traffic.

The project covers 15 kilometres from the junction with Meydan Road up to the junction with Emirates Road.

The Dh1.95 billion project has been divided into four phases, all of which will be completed by the end of December, apart from two bridges on the junction with Umm Suqeim Road.

They will be completed and opened for traffic in the first half of 2013.
