Du warns customers of disruption to BlackBerry services

Telecoms giant du has warned BlackBerry users that there will be a temporary network glitch on Saturday.

Service will be affected for about 45 minutes sometime between 6am and 10am because of maintenance works, a statement issued by the network on Thursday said.

“During this time, customers may experience difficulty in registering their devices, creating new accounts and using BlackBerry subscriber websites. We regret the inconvenience,” the statement concluded.

du is 39.5 per cent owned by Emirates Investment Authority, 20 per cent owned by Mubadala Development Company, 19.5 per cent owned by Emirates Communications and Technology and the remaining stake is held by public shareholders.
