Driver who died after car hit barrier caused the crash, police say

DUBAI // A man who died last night after his car veered off the Meydan Road in Nad Al Sheeba and hit a barrier caused the accident because of his “non-vigilance”, police said today.

The deceased, an Emirati man in his twenties, hit the barriers after he lost control of his vehicle, police said.

The accident happened at around 6.10pm yesterday.

A witness who posted on the Cycle Safe Dubai Facebook page said the man’s Toyota FJ Cruiser lost control before the last bridge on the main road.

Police closed the road to remove the damaged car.
