Dh140m in cigarette duties avoided

A company has been smuggling cigarettes through Jebel Ali Free Zone for the past two years, avoiding Dubai Customs charges of more than Dh140 million, prosecutors say.

The director of the company allegedly carried out 237 illegal transactions.
