Deaths and injuries on capital’s worst roads drop by more than half

The number of traffic related deaths and injuries on Abu Dhabi's most dangerous roads fell by 60 per cent during the first quarter of the year, according to police.

There were 25 deaths and 40 injuries, compared with 61 deaths and 58 injuries during the same period last year.

The most dangerous roads include Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Street, the Abu Dhabi to Al Ain motorway, Airport Road and Sweihan road. Abu Dhabi Police said it had intensified patrols in these areas.

Modifications included the closing of U-turns and new signage.
