Crime-fighting and safety training at Abu Dhabi centre

The National staff

A learning centre for police, fire-fighters and Ministry of Interior officials has opened in Abu Dhabi.

The GIS Centre for Security will offer training courses on geographic information systems (GIS).

The institute is authorised by ESRI, a California-based software company.

The courses will emphasise crime-mapping and analysis, firefighting and search-and-rescue operations. All training materials will be provided by ESRI.

Abu Dhabi Police will hire certified instructors.
