UAE kidnapping gang loses appeal against their 3-year jail sentence

The Dubai Court of Appeal has upheld a three-year sentence handed down to three men who kidnapped and robbed a labourer after posing as police officers.

The three Pakistanis, MB, 38, ME, 34, and GY, 22, were found guilty of kidnapping 31-year-old Bangladeshi FK on December 6, 2011.

They were also convicted of forming a criminal gang and robbing FK after beating him.

FK told prosecutors that a Toyota Corolla pulled up tbeside him when he was walking in Al Quoz.

Two men stepped out of the car and walked towards him while a third remained in the driver's seat.
