Three faked medical papers, court hears
DUBAI // Two men and a woman denied forging four medical fitness certificates and two medical fitness centre stamps, and four others were accused of paying for them, a Dubai court heard this morning.
RA, 42; NM, a female employee at the Dubai Health Authority, 25; and EM, 28 are charged with making a fake stamp reading “Free From Infectious Diseases”.
NM denied a separate charge of forging two stamps, one of which reads CXR, used at the X-ray section. FH was accused of forging a stamp used for those who work in the food industry.
She also denied taking Dh30,000 in bribes from RA in return for issuing 20 medical fitness letters for people who suffer from infectious diseases.
RA and EM are also accused of specifically forging a medical fitness letter for a man who suffered from hepatitis.
SK, 33; SQ, 35; KR, 38; and NA, 45, all from Pakistan, are charged with offering about Dh45,000 in bribes to EM and AS.
Five of the defendants were present before the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance this morning and denied the charges.
Prosecutors said that the incidents happened before May 3, 2010, and were discovered when a colleague of NM noticed medical fitness letters missing.
The next hearing is scheduled for May 26.
