Rapist jailed after two years on the run

DUBAI // A man who went on the run for two years after taking part in the gang rape of a teenage boy was today sentenced to five years in prison.

The 28-year-old Emirati AM tricked the boy into following him into a villa in Bur Dubai where he and two other men raped him in December 2009.

One of the men - 27-year-old AS - filmed the attack on his mobile phone. The two other men were sentenced to five years in prison each, but AM escaped arrest and was arrested only recently.

He was then put on trial at the Criminal Court.
