DUBAI // Three men posing as police robbed a man in an alley, a court heard today.

Prosecutors said that AH, a 40-year-old Pakistani, was walking in Hor Al Anz at about 7pm on August 14 when he was stopped by his three compatriots - MA, 36, MS, 36 and MM, 22.

One of them introduced himself as a CID officer and dragged him into the alley where a second attacker robbed him, stealing Dh400 and a mobile phone. The third attacker provided a lookout while the robbery took place.

The man sustained injuries to his right hand and a cut on his knee during the attack.

The three men were charged in the Criminal Court with robbery and impersonating public employees.

All of them denied the charges, with two of them claiming they did not know what was going on as they were drunk at the time.
