ABU DHABI // A man accused of posing as a police officer so he could kidnap and rape a woman he met at the bus station, claims he could not have done so because he is sexually impotent.
Prosecutors told the Criminal Court that MR, an Omani, met the woman on September 13 at the bus station and, identifying himself as a CID officer, asked her to show him her ID card. He then claimed there was a problem with her residency and asked her to accompany him to the police station.
He then took her to his home in Al Shamkha where he held her captive for two days.
During that time he forced the Filipina to drink alcohol and swallow Tramadol pills, said prosecutors. At one point he gagged and raped her, before telling his son to drop her off next to Al Mariah Mall on Hamdan Street.
Police officers who arrested the Omani found bottles of alcohol in his home, while doctors found traces of alcohol in his blood.
The Omani claimed he could not have raped the woman because he had a disability in one of his legs and was sexually impotent.
However, a medical report found he was capable of walking without crutches and prosecutors said he could not be sexually impotent because in a separate court case his Filipina fiancée admitted having a sexual affair with him.
Following his arrest the man had asked to take a test to prove his impotence, but when offered the test some time later he refused to take it.
He was charged with impersonating a CID officer, kidnap and rape. He was also charged with possessing and drinking of alcohol.
The case was adjourned.
