Maid charged with illegal sex

DUBAI // An Indonesian maid has been charged with unlawful sex after her employers discovered she was pregnant.

The woman, identified as MK, a 22-year-Indonesian, was also charged with violating the sanctity of another's property because she allowed her partner to enter her employers' house, the Dubai Court of Misdemeanours was told today.

The man, MI, reportedly visited MK once in February. The case was discovered on October 8 after the maid started showing signs of pregnancy.

MK's employers, a Jordanian family living in Mirdiff, took MK to the doctor for a pregnancy test after becoming suspicious.

Immediately after discovering she was pregnant, they took her to the police, where they reported the incident.

MK has confessed, according to records.

A verdict is expected on December 18.
