Life sentence for drug dealer
DUBAI // A labourer was sentenced to life in prison yesterday for selling marijuana to his workmates.
RR, 23, from Bangladesh, was arrested on August 13 last year after a tip-off to Dubai Police. Captain Yasser Saeed al Muslimi said that while RR did not have the drug on his person when arrested, he confessed to selling it and told police where he had hidden 154 grams of the drug. A test found no trace of the drug in his system.
RR said he smuggled the drug into the country from Bangladesh and sold it at his labour camp in Al Rashidiya.
He will be deported after serving his sentence.
