Knife-wielding man steals sandwiches
DUBAI // An unemployed man threatened to stab a woman before running off with her sandwiches, a court heard today.
The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance heard that HT, whose nationality and age were not mentioned, was waiting for the lift in her apartment building on November 29 when LH, a 28-year-old from Morocco, approached her and threatened her with a knife.
He told the woman to hand over her purse, which she did, and ran off. Prosecutors said the purse contained only two sandwiches and Dh200.
The man denied charges of theft.
A verdict is expected on May 25.
