Jail for Dubai salesman who threatened to kill compatriot

DUBAI // A man who threatened to kill his compatriot over a police complaint has been sentenced to six months in prison.

TE, 25, a Pakistani sales agent, threatened to kill SA, 27, a customer services agent, after he lodged the complaint at Naif Police Station.

The Criminal Court heard the threats were made while the pair were at a supermarket in Al Muraqqabat on August 9, 2011.

The sales agent was not present in court to enter a plea and was sentenced in absentia.

He will be deported after completing his jail term.
