Jail for Dubai hotel manager caught on camera harassing employee

DUBAI // A manager at a five-star hotel who pulled the bra strap of one of his employees was today sentenced to three months in prison.

The Criminal Court found the Egyptian ST, 40, guilty of sexual assault and ordered he should be deported following his jail term.

The manager approached the 28-year-old Emirati in the hotel's locker room on April 23 and put his arms around her before asking her what type of bra she was wearing.

"He held me with his left arm behind my back and with his right hand on my shoulder. He tried to pull me towards his chest further," said the woman, who pushed him away and began to walk off.

As she was walking away the manager pulled her bra strap and asked what underwear she was wearing, but she continued to her office without replying. When the manager saw how upset she was, he apologised.

The court was shown footage from a security camera in the hotel that backed up the woman's story.
