Jail for Dubai driver who bit employer's wife over wages

DUBAI // A driver who bit the breast of his employer's wife was today sentenced to six months in prison.

KR, 57, from Pakistan, waited until the pair were alone in the family's office in Murshid Souq before throwing the woman on the floor, pulling her clothes off and biting into her flesh.

But the woman wriggled free and ran to a balcony where she retrieved a metal bar and hit him with it. As passersby - alerted by the woman's screams - gathered under the balcony, she warned the driver not to move and called her husband, who reported the matter to police and the man was arrested.

The woman said the attack, which took place on October 11, took her by surprise because the driver was "old" and had worked for the couple for a long time.

At the Criminal Court the driver denied a charge of sexual assault, saying there had been no such skirmish between them. He claimed he was being framed because he was demanding Dh1,500 in unpaid wages.

However, medics at Al Baraha Hospital confirmed there was a bit mark on the woman's left breast.

The driver will be deported after serving his prison term.
